The case, being heard by the Cairo Economic Court, revolves around accusations that a criminal gang laundered 25 million Egyptian pounds in proceeds from drug trafficking through various commercial activities to conceal the source of the funds and give them a veneer of legitimacy.
The defense team includes:
Sameh Ashour – Former Head of the Bar Association
Ahmed Nabil – Lawyer at the Court of Cassation
And several other lawyers.
The defense presented its legal arguments during the session, and the court decided to postpone the hearing to hear the prosecution witnesses at their request. The trial proceedings will continue in upcoming sessions.
